Sakonsa

Feed the needy

Location: India (Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab)

Sakonsa initiated this campaign to support the underprivileged people who are dying not because of disease but because of hunger. Due to high migration rates, the no. of access to basic life supports is decreasing particularly in rural areas. We have seen thousands of people sleeping with empty stomachs and we know there are millions of such people in the world. We aim to provide food in form of dry ration kits to as many people as we can through this campaign. One dry ration kit includes flour, rice, pulses, oil, soap, biscuit, and a mask. It is appropriate for one-week consumption.

We have provided ration kits to around 1000+ families till now and aiming to reach more needy families by the end. We are also organizing weekly meal donation drives in which we provide a one-time meal to maximum possible people in slum areas. The major challenge in this campaign was distribution amidst the risk of coronavirus, but thanks to our volunteers they have made it successful by doing distribution drives with full precautions.

We would like to continue this campaign through the support of our donors and wish we will eliminate hunger one day from the world.

Support

Our required budget for the campaign is Rs. 15,00,000. We have fundraised and used around 3 Lakhs till now. We are still lagging from our goal due to a lack of funds. We are looking forward to increasing our revenue so that we can continue these food drives. We have previously fundraised through open mic events and social media campaigns. We request everyone to join hands with us to tackle this hard period of pandemic.
