Lisboa + 21: Enhancing Youth Engagement in Implementing and Reviewing the 2030 Agenda and Youth 2030

The last four years have been historic for the UN and its role in global governance for sustainable development.  2015 saw the adoption of a number of critical global intergovernmental agreement. These include 1) the 2030 Agenda, 2) the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR), 3) the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA) for financing for development (FfD) and 4) the Paris Agreement (within the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change).  The LIsboa +21 meeting is taking place before the initiation of the process to ascertain the new global review framework for the 2030 Agenda and hence plays a critical role in this discussion.

UN MGCY AP RCC hosted a side event led by Mridul Upadhyay and Gerald Marin of Asian Youth Peace Network, with the support of the Malaysian Ministry for Youth and Sports. Other speakers included Mr. Vinicius Menden Lima, Besouro Social Development Agency Brazil, Mr. Marcus Barão, President, Community of Portuguese Language Countries Youth Forum, Ms. Neringa Tumenaite, Advisory Council of Youth, European Youth Forum and Ms. Hai Ha Vu Thi, UNESCO Vietnam.
