Rights-based Policy Briefing Webinar

With over 60% of the world’s youth living in Asia-Pacific, a regional discussion on the principles and barriers of meaningful youth engagement becomes a matter of necessity.  As per Asia and Pacific SDG progress report in 2017 published by the ESCAP, SDG 10 and 16 are the only two goals where the region has not made any progress but also regressed.  The good news is - young peace builders, and human rights defenders, have largely been forming ripples of inclusion and justice, in their own spaces of influences, and also together.

Organized by the members and partners of Asian Youth Peace Network and their experiences from: ASEAN young human rights defenders, CIVICUS youth action team, UNA Australia, UN MGCY, UNOY peacebuilders and Asian youth council Secretariat, this webinar seeks to open discussion on the following learning outcomes:

  • - Form new collaborative networks between communities

  • - Shape compelling and avocative messages

  • - Craft concise communications to reach audiences

  • - Recognise common challenges to peace in different countries
