WHY?
COVID-19 and government responses to the pandemic, impact young people in a multitude of ways, with a significant effect on the mental health of young people. Fear and anxiety about the disease is compounded by being away from schools, work, peers, adjusting to new ways of learning and working as well as fear of losing their jobs and family income. Interventions to address mental health of young people are often included as an after-thought and are not integrated as central aspects of epidemic care packages.
