The UN Major Group for Children and Youth would like to invite you to the “Reimagining the Relationship between Youth and the Law webinar”. The webinar will discuss the issues surrounding youth in conflict with the law. In particular, it will seek to leverage young people’s policy ideas for the protection of human rights of youth in encounters with law enforcement, building mutual trust between authorities and youth, alternatives to detention and incarceration, and ways of avoiding the use of force in the promotion of just and peaceful societies. The webinar discussion will feed into UNMGCY’s contribution to the Secretary-General’s Report on Policies and Programmes Involving Youth to the 59th Session of the Commission for Social Development.
