In the aftermath of a successful event which attracted over 100 participants, the European Youth Energy Network team prepared the organization’s first Position paper, named “Youth shaping the Climate Pact: Gaps and ideas for youth engagement”. This document builds on the outcomes of the event, in particular the inputs of over 60 participants from Europe and abroad shared during the breakout room sessions. From these discussions, EYEN gathered the views of youth on the challenges they face to get engaged in the energy sector, as well as some best practises and suggestions based on effective youth initiatives.

This position paper translates those inputs into four main challenges and respective Calls to Action, directed at the European Commission’s DG ENER and DG CLIMA. This document was written in a collaborative mode with the participants, who had the chance to comment and make suggestions to the draft version and sign it.
