The second Asian-African Youth Government, Indonesian National Youth Council and OIC Youth Indonesia, in partnership with AsiaTV Studios, organized The World Youth Leader Summit on 16-19 December 2021, in Bandung, Indonesia. The hybrid event was attended by over a thousand young leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, academicians and researchers from both regions. 

Regional solutions were identified including but not limited to SDG 4.Quality Education, which is key to bridging diverse cultures and building inclusive and peaceful societies. In the Philippines, e-learning platform SuyoMano had just opened its first class on: Youth Guide to Asian Leadership, with MGCY’s first Regional Caucus Coordinators. 

Meanwhile, despite challenges of the pandemic, in Morocco, the International University of Rabat continues to enable its students, administrative and pedagogical staff to benefit from real-life, international and regional exchange projects such as : Erasmus, and Erasmus+, and other bilateral programs. Since its foundation, the university now has 186 international partnerships with different universities and schools. It welcomes approximately 120 international students and sends around 400 local students abroad every year.

Meanwhile, Friends for Leadership members continue to share best practices such as John Aggrey, HIRED Consult: "education is not just about getting people into brick and mortar but giving everyone a chance at life through development of communities, security and human rights." Today, at the International Day of Education, we quote UNESCO’s Youth as Researchers:

• More than 1.5 billion learners worldwide are affected by school closures

• Online learning has grown exponentially, but remains the privilege of the few, with stark differences between regions 

• Even those that are connected, are showing signs of sociological impact 

Youth continue to prove their resilience. We commemorate peacebuilders, educators, learners and cultural workers who continue to form decentralized networks of learning - with young people always at the forefront.
