In a rapidly changing situation, the pandemic’s impacts on the daily life of people grow by hour. Examining the situation, the poorest of the poor and the vulnerable sectors are the most affected-in this pandemic crisis. In the recent status of the COVID-19, the sector of health, transportation, public officials and other teams took risk their lives to protect our fellows from danger of the virus. Also, social media has been flooded with disinformation, panic, and discrimination.
The project is 2 month long, youth led Covid Response that focused in awareness campaigned through online and offline on COVID 19, provision of assistance and food security initiative in the Internally Displaced Persons on Marawi Sige in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur, Philippines in a Local (Maranaw) dialect targeting the children and lactating women and to facilitate an accurate information in assessing the their conditions. The Marawi Tourism Social Enterprise Inc (MTSE Inc. ) is known on community on volunteering and initiating interventions for vulnerable sectors with the knowledge, network and ability to engage and influence relevant stakeholders on planning, empowerment, with the goal of building a vibrant peaceful ecosystem with partnered experiences with United Nation Development Program-UNDP, BARMM government,USAID, MSU, Bangsamoro Transition Authority and many others.
OBJECTIVES:
Increased understanding among the people of what nCOV, how it affects the body and how to prevent contracting it.
Eliminate the fake news on nCOV and decrease panic situations in Lanao Del Sur
Increased number of people being proactively aware on combating nCOV.
To rapidly assess, profile, and screen the children, parents and lactating women conditions and identify their ability to cope with the the pandemic crisis. In close coordination with the Bangsamoro Youth Commission-BYC formerly Office of the Bangsamoro Youth Affairs-OBYA for documents and assist to the transportation and logistics in the entire project. Marawi Tourism Social Enterprise Inc. (MTSE Inc. ) will work with UNEP MGCY and close coordination with LGUs, Inter Agency Task Force for NCOV 2019 and health agencies.
The project is composed in three components:
Awareness Campaigned online and offline on COVID 19L Distribution of Hygiene Kits for children and Distribution of Relief Package for Parents (1,000 children received hygiene kits and 500 parents received Relief Package)
Provision of Assistance Hygiene Kits and Relief Package
Online Activities: Children Impact Survey , FB Live Conversation, Parenting Awareness, Videos on Proper Handwashing to children and COVID awareness Comics
Offline Activities: Covid19 Distribution of Leaflet, Cover 19 Info Graphics Tarpaulins and Local Radio Program
FB live conversations: FB Posts on NCOv infographics, local updates and preventions on NCOV 2019., Informed citizens on the Crisis, Pandemic and NCOV2019 and 10,000 pcs of Leaflets distributed
Food Security Initiative through Backyard or Container Gardening: 3 days Masterclass Backyard Gardening Online Class/Video and Provision of Seeds, Agri-equipments and Materials (100 household received Seeds, equipment and Materials)
