IRENA Youth Talk: Impact of COVID-19 on the RE Sector: A Youth Perspective

On June 8, IRENA, in collaboration with the SDG 7 Youth Constituency of the UN MGCY, organised the first event in the series of IRENA Youth Talk. The theme of the webinar was “Impact of COVID-19 on the renewable energy sector: a youth perspective”.

IRENA’s Director-General Francesco La Camera, participants of the first IRENA Youth Forum, representatives of the SDG7 Youth Constituency and representatives of youth organisations discussed the impact and consequences of the current COVID-19 pandemic on the renewable energy sector. Young people also presented successful examples of their contribution to the deployment of renewable energy in their communities. The Global Focal Points of the SDG7 Youth Constituency presented the structure and initiatives of the youth constituency in the opening segment of the discussion. 

The event was a big success as it gathered hundreds of participants from around the world. Stay tuned for the upcoming IRENA Youth Talk dialogues!
