Mindfarm Development Initiative
Location: Nigeria (Ondo State)
It has been 2 weeks since The Nigerian President established the lockdown due to the COVID-19 Pandemic; all economic activities have been put on halt and everyone is mandated to stay home. People are pooling resources to provide for themselves during the lockdown (feeding) as with the price inflation it got difficult to afford food items. This is the reality of an average Nigerian citizen unfortunately, it is even much more difficult for a person with disability in a country that is not disability inclusive.
This problem prompted us into action to provide relief packages for the Persons Living With Disabilities communities (PLWD) in Ondo State. These packages will last a family of 5 for a week. We started with 38 PLWD families and now have reached over 90 families in partnership with Kids & Teens Resource Centre. However, there is still more we would like to reach as talks of lockdown extensions ensues.
Support Needed
Funds needed: To be able to reach more PWD families, a minimum of $2724.80 will be needed. (1,000,000 naira) will be needed as it would allow us to provide a variety of foods and other amenities in the relief packages. So far, we have been able to raise it from out of pockets however, we have a fundraising platform up to help push the project and raise funds online.
Other support: Volunteers, Access to information
