Protecting the Visually Impaired Against Covid-19

Location: Nigeria (Ondo - Akure, Owo, Ikare Akoko)

From Ajayi Oluwole Olakunle:

The Covid-19 pandemic is spreading fast. As of today, we have more than 300 confirmed cases in Nigeria, and have 10 recorded deaths. It is alarming that the Nigeria centre for disease control does not cater for those who do not have access to resources. What is even more alarming is that many of these people are visually impaired or physically challenged, and are the most vulnerable during this pandemic.

Contactless thermometer

I have surveyed different communities and have observed that nothing has been done for this category of people. No sensitisation, no awareness, no provision of hand sanitizers, no provision of infrared contactless thermometers either in the home or in health centres close to them. This shattered my heart and that is the reason why I am putting this application together to help fix this problem and provide aid to these people as soon as possible. Should these people, who are staying together, begin to exhibit symptoms of Covid-19, they will be more susceptible as a result of not being aware of Covid-19.

Support Needed

Funds needed: We need $5,000 to help us cater for these categories of people. We've been able to raise $500, and are in need of $4,500.

Other needs: Volunteers
