COVID-19 Family Relief Fund
BLI Global
Location: The fund will be disbursed to 50 families in developing countries that are hardest hit by the corona virus
As we all know, Coronavirus is cropping up in every country of the world and yet it has just began it's rampage in Africa and South Asia. In light of this there are many of the elderly, the young and families that are increasingly in need of assistance, and require masks, hand sanitizer, food and medical services.
In many of these countries, healthcare facilities are grossly inadequate to handle patients in a pandemic such as this. For example in Zimbabwe, a young gentleman succumbed to the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease due to the inability of hospitals there to provide a ventilator machine. In Uganda the government has ordered a shut down of all public transport which the majority of civilians use to purchase food for their families. This means that a lot of people may lack the ability to purchase food for their families in the 14 day quarantine period. These countries are also plagued with the lack of access to clean water essential to wash their hands making hand sanitizers a luxury.
Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries on earth and is just now grappling with the concept of social distancing and personal hygiene. Because of this, we are starting a COVID-19 Relief Fund to help families that are unable to provide for their families, and that need the extra push to make sure they survive the pandemic. Help us give hope to them by donating as little as USD $10 to the fund.
Our goal is to raise a minimum of USD $5000 to be disbursed to organizations and individuals identified in these regions to supply medical supplies, food, clean water, disinfectants and hand-sanitizers to the families. We will be posting updates of our progress and beneficiaries as we go along!
Support
Our budget for this initiative is USD 5000 to cater for 50 families with a $100 USD package. We are reaching out to our partners, board members, and friends to request as little as USD 10 to help us immediately disburse to families in need. We will definitely appreciate your support in spreading the word of introducing us to organizations, foundations that might be interested in funding this initiative. We have already received requests from our volunteers on ground in Bangladesh and Uganda to assist families in need due to the nature of the lock-down in those countries.
