OWE COVID-19 Response, Supporting Vulnerable Women

Location: Liberia (Monrovia)

This initiative is geared toward supporting vulnerable women during this pandemic. It started with a review of vulnerable women’s health before the outbreak, this showed that women in detention holdings, mental health facilities and girls in orphanages had less access to health care and limited attention when the need arises. As an institution serving under-served women, we decided to intervene by raising funds from friends who believed in our work and integrity and give out sanitary packages to women in detention centers, mental homes, and girls in orphanages. The package includes bath soaps, sanitary pads, alcohol, tissues, and hand sanitizers. The purpose of this package donation is To safeguard the physical, emotional and mental conditions of under-served and vulnerable women and girls in prison cells, orphanages and rehabilitation centers through awareness and protective sanitary packages.

Support

Our initiative budget is $5,000 USD. We have missing funding gap of $4,000 USD and still have many of our target population unreached due to limited funding. We are also very flexible if any donor chooses to give us the items in kind. We are still reaching out to our individual donors and sending out proposal for support.
