Today half of the 1.4 billion people living in countries affected by crises and fragility are under the age of 20. Many of these young people are among the first to step up to help their communities rebuild. However, too often, their unique needs are not specifically addressed in humanitarian responses, and their energy, leadership, knowledge and creativity not tapped in to maximize the efforts’ and impacts. This is a saddening fact we have experienced during COVID-19 as well.

The webinar coincides with the World Humanitarian Day - August 19th, and we would like to use the opportunity to equally celebrate the extraordinary efforts of young people around the world involved in making the world a better place for humanity and share their efforts around COVID-19. In this webinar, we seek to take this initiative to share knowledge around the Compact and on the active roles of young people in humanitarian action.
