Youth Compact Champions - More Info!!
The application process for Youth Compact Champions for Phase 1 has now closed. There is no planned application process for Phase 2 at the moment. Please follow Restless Development on Twitter for future engagement opportunities.
The youth compact champions programme will
provide 18 months support, to 35 hard-to-reach Young Leaders (aged 18-30) who have been affected by humanitarian crisis and have experience of leading humanitarian action. These Young Leaders will:
Support the design and evaluation of initiatives by the Compact to deliver on it’s 5 key actions (services, participation, capacity, resources & data).
Mobilise over 1,000 young people around the world to engage in Compact initiatives, supporting over 100,000 people affected by humanitarian crisis.
The Youth Compact Champions programme builds on the collective work, initiatives and passion of the Compact members to date, and is aligned to the Compact’s guidance on working with and for young people in response to the COVID-19 emergency. The programme is currently co-coordinated by the UN Major Group for Children & Youth, ActionAid and Restless Development with support from Compact members including Norwegian Refugee Council, War Child Holland and UNFPA. ActionAid have provided initial funding for the first phase of the programme until December 2020.
As we kick start the programme from June to December 2020, working on initiatives such as The Youth Fund, disseminating Compact guidance and youth capacity building, we aim to co-design the second phase of the project from January to December 2021 with partners who want to join the programme.
