Many Kenyans happen to work in the informal sector. With corona virus, jobs have been adversely affected, household income for most families, has drastically reduced and the strain on the available little resources to put food on the table, is now the new normal.

#BeNiceKE simply seeks to provide food supplies and other basic necessities to needy families spread across Kenya, to make life bearable for them considering the fact that Cup Of Uji Kenya has been feeding over 3,000 less privileged primary school children daily, with a daily cup of Porridge.

Under the #BeNiceKE initiative, over 60 needy families have received the much needed support.

Support

Challenges faced are logistical costs in doing door to door deliveries and the finances to be able to reach out to the ever increasing number of needy families. We have at least 10 volunteers, who are basically young people, working under this initiative.

We are currently working with a budget of KES 2,500 and we have so far done 60 families. We have a target to reach at least 3,000 families and that is going to require resources. We are looking forward to doing a lot of online fundraising using www.wave.com (International Money Transfer number: +254723921080, Name of recipient: Francis Otieno Amonde, Location of recipient: Nairobi, Kenya)
