Voice of the Vulnerables
Location: Nigeria (Port Harcourt)
The Voice of the Vulnerable was born out of the COVID19 Pandemic shutdown and lock-down in my community. The vulnerable need urgent and more support at this time, unfortunately, they are not looked after, so I asked myself, if an active person like is facing such challenges, how about the vulnerable? So, I quickly kick started this initiative to seek funding support to visit orphanage homes and the physically challenged persons with food items, masks and alcohol based hand sanitizers for their safety.
We involved like-minded Volunteers and Medical Doctors including Healthcare Practitioners to sensitize the vulnerable on preventive measures for COVID19. We are visiting Cheshire Home (Physically challenged persons home) to support them with some food items from our own contribution, but if we have funding support, we can visit all the Orphanage Homes in Rivers State and support the vulnerable.
It is difficult to get Donors and people support us financially at this time. We can do more with Donor support or funding support.
Support
The required budget of $1000 will serve us at the moment to support over 10 Orphanage Homes with vulnerables; we are planning to fund-raise by reaching out to people and organizations that are passionate to support vulnerable as a result of the COVID-19 Outbreak. Though it is difficult to get people’s support fund-wise, we will keep pushing.
